Glamping Pods With Hot Tub

Luxury glamping with hot tubs

Nobody polices the word luxury. One site uses it for a pod with a kettle and a heater, another for a cabin with underfloor heating and a roll top bath. You can tell them apart before you pay, if you know what to read for.

Four things that separate luxury from a nice shed

The bathroom. Is there a toilet and shower inside your pod, or a shared block across the field? This is the biggest single difference and the one that matters most at two in the morning.

The bed. A proper double or king with a real mattress, or a fold out? Listings that are proud of the bed say so.

The heating. Underfloor heating, a log burner or a decent electric heater, plus insulation. Without these, a winter stay is an endurance event.

The kitchen. A hob, a fridge and a sink mean you can cook. A kettle and a microwave mean you’re eating out.

The tub itself

At this end of the market you should expect the tub to be private, and usually electric, so it’s hot when you arrive. Look at where it sits. A tub on a deck facing a valley is a different thing from one beside the car park. Check there’s a cover as well, because that keeps the water warm between dips.

When it’s worth paying for

Winter, mostly. A basic pod is fine in July, when you only go inside to sleep. In January you’ll be indoors for hours, and the bathroom, the heating and the bed are the holiday. The same goes for stays of three nights or more, and for any trip where the point is to impress someone.

Where to look

The links below open hot tub glamping on each booking site. There’s no single standard for luxury, so ignore the label and read the facilities list line by line. If the bathroom isn’t mentioned, it’s probably not in the pod.
